Heart disease often shows no symptoms—until it’s too late. A coronary calcium score scan is a non-invasive way to detect early signs of heart disease before problems arise. This test could literally save your life.
How Does a Coronary Calcium Score Work?
The test uses a CT scanner to measure the amount of calcium in your coronary arteries. Calcium buildup is a sign of plaque, which can narrow or block arteries. The higher your score, the greater your risk for a future heart event like a heart attack.
